Shaykh Baraá al-Hashim
Imam and khaṭīb devoted to seeking and transmitting knowledge, and founder of Madina Editorial.
Born in Madrid, of Arab roots. From an early age he set out on the path of knowledge, devoting his life to seeking it. He travelled through many countries, drawing from the sources of more than a hundred teachers from different regions of the Islamic world — from Sham to the City of the Prophet ﷺ, and through Mauritania, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, India and Türkiye, among others.
He serves as imam and khaṭīb, and has worked academically as a university lecturer and a trainer of imams. Driven by the wish to bring the Islamic sciences to the Spanish-speaking world, he founded a publishing house specialised in this field, contributing to the spread of knowledge in Spanish. He is the author of more than twenty published works — original writings, commentaries, critical editions and translations — the fruit of a life devoted to knowledge and its transmission.
